I'm an

astrophysicist...

me_Jan2018_mk2

I'm a Post Doc currently working on the chemical evolution of galaxies using models and observations at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) in Garching, Germany.

I have previously studied the host galaxies of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and superluminous-supernovae (SLSNe) with Patricia Schady at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE), and obtained my PhD on "The Chemical Evolution of Galaxies in Semi-Analytic Models and Observations" at MPA in 2014, working with Guinevere Kauffmann and Simon White.

My main reseach interests are galactic chemical evolution, the gas properties of star-forming galaxies, ellipticals & galaxy clusters, and galaxy formation modelling.

I'm originally from London, UK, and obtained my MSci degree in Physics from Imperial College. I also spent one year completing my Masters project at the University of Padua.

I enjoy playing football (in all weathers), reading about & discussing politics and philosophy, and playing with my wonderful 12-year-old daughter.
